Establish Whether a Swap Already Exists
Before fixing Ledger Live Swap not working, determine whether the first attempt created a quote, a signed transaction, or a funded provider order. Ledger Wallet is the application’s current name. Retrying without that distinction can create a second operation rather than repair the original one.
Keep the provider name, assets, source and destination networks, any swap identifier, and relevant chain hashes. Do not clear the app’s local data while those records are your only easy way to identify an unresolved order.
Follow the Evidence Through the Stages
Quotes and Eligibility
If no quote was accepted, inspect the pair, amount, region, and route availability. Provider minimums and supported networks can differ. An unavailable route does not imply the hardware wallet is defective, and a different provider’s quote may have different costs and conditions.
Token Approval
Some contract-based swaps require a token allowance separately from the swap itself. An approval transaction succeeding does not establish that the exchange transaction was submitted. Inspect the spender and permission before repeating an approval or increasing its allowance.
The Outgoing Transaction
If signed, find its actual chain status. A pending payment may not yet have reached the provider, while a reverted contract operation can consume gas without completing the swap. The app’s last popup is less conclusive than a verified chain record.
Provider Completion
For a provider-processed route, use the order or swap reference to inspect fulfillment. Ledger’s swap-status documentation explains why the provider identifier matters. Processing, review, and refund states should not be interpreted as ordinary portfolio synchronization.
Repair a Failure Before Funding
For a quote page that will not load, compare Ledger’s incident dashboard, the provider’s notices, and a trusted alternative connection. Check that your app is supported and current. Do not bypass a regional restriction using instructions from an unknown support contact.
For device signing, verify the correct wallet configuration, required device apps, and available fee asset on the source network. Ledger’s device-app update explanation shows why the computer app alone may not establish compatibility. Follow the selected integration’s prompts rather than a universal coin-app recipe.
Handle a Funded Swap with the Right Contact
If funds have reached a provider and completion is delayed, contact that provider through the verified order route. Include the reference and relevant transaction details. An app reinstall cannot force its backend to process a refund or change a compliance review.
If the chain operation itself failed, diagnose that result before proposing another swap. Review fees, contract restrictions, quote expiry, and any execution terms involved. A new quote should be assessed from the beginning, since price and received amount may have changed.
Never approve a payment introduced as a required repair deposit. No support investigation needs the wallet’s recovery words or private keys. The device screen should still match the operation you intended, even when someone says they are helping fix a previous failure.
Swap-Troubleshooting Questions
Does refreshing history complete the exchange?
It can update what the app displays, but does not itself perform a provider’s outstanding swap or change a blockchain transaction.
Should I increase slippage to remove every error?
No. Slippage changes the execution terms you accept and cannot resolve every route, eligibility, fee, or signing problem. Understand the cause before approving a different tolerance.
Which support team needs the swap ID?
The provider handling the order uses its reference for order investigation. Ledger support can investigate the app and hardware workflow. Keep those roles and identifiers clear so the request reaches the team that can act on it.
