Start With One Affected Account
For Ledger Live Linux sync issues, a precise example is more useful than repeated app resets. Ledger Wallet, formerly Ledger Live, can show stale activity when its account-data requests fail. Choose one affected account and record the network, last visible operation, and exact message. Compare it with another account only after you know that both should have current data.
Distinguish Missing Accounts From Stale Data
A newly installed Linux app may simply lack an account that was listed on another computer. Adding the supported account or using the current account-sharing feature addresses that situation. By contrast, an existing account that no longer refreshes needs network-data troubleshooting. Matching account labels are not enough: check the actual blockchain and public account identity before comparing balances.
Ledger Sync is also a separate named feature for sharing account information between supported installations. A failure in that setup does not establish that the blockchain itself is unavailable. Write down whether the error belongs to sharing accounts, retrieving history, or adding an account with the hardware connected.
Build a Small Comparison
Check whether the same Linux installation can load another network and whether the affected account refreshes on another trusted connection. Change one condition at a time. A personal hotspot can help identify local filtering, while a second account can reveal an asset-specific service problem. Neither comparison requires disabling a firewall or changing hardware wallet recovery settings.
Consult the Ledger component status page and read incidents for the actual network. An incident on one service does not explain every error automatically. If your component is affected, keep the evidence and retry after recovery instead of rebuilding the same cache repeatedly during an outage.
Rebuild Local Data Only After Basic Checks
Install a compatible current release from the publisher’s download page. Ledger’s synchronization guidance describes refreshing cached data once services are functioning. Read the app’s clear-cache confirmation and allow the new scan to finish. A full application reset is a broader operation with different consequences for local settings.
If you run an AppImage, ensure your launcher opens the release you just installed. Testing an old copy can make a useful update appear ineffective. Do not change USB rules unless the failing task actually needs device communication; ordinary public-account data retrieval and hardware access are separate parts of the application.
Interpret Deposits Independently
For a missing deposit, obtain its blockchain transaction ID from the sender and inspect the correct network explorer. Determine whether it was broadcast and whether the intended address received the intended asset. A successful transaction on another network will not move into the displayed account because Linux cache was cleared. Consider privacy before sharing public addresses or activity history.
Linux Sync Questions
Is a working device connection proof that synchronization works?
No. My Ledger can communicate with hardware while a remote account service is unavailable. Test the operation that actually failed rather than treating every successful connection as a full repair.
What should support receive?
Provide the distribution release, application version, network, exact error, and comparison results. Review diagnostics for personal information. Never send recovery words or a backup image to demonstrate which account you own.
