Describe the Missing Balance Before Changing Anything
Ledger Live balance not showing can mean no account entry, no token quantity, no recent deposit, or no price conversion. Ledger Wallet, formerly Ledger Live, presents several kinds of information together, but each depends on different data. Begin by naming which item is absent. A blank fiat figure and an unexpected outgoing blockchain transfer should never receive the same explanation.
Case One: The Account Was Never Added
After reinstalling or changing hosts, your local account list may not match the previous installation. Connect the initialized Ledger that controls the account and use the supported add-account or account-sharing flow. Confirm the blockchain and account type rather than choosing the first matching asset name. If the original wallet used an additional passphrase configuration, that identity also matters.
Do not generate a new phrase to fill an empty list. A new wallet has different accounts, so that action can make the search more confusing. Likewise, a local label is not proof of account identity. Compare the public account details privately before concluding that two differently named entries represent different funds.
Case Two: A Deposit Is Missing
Obtain the blockchain transaction ID from the sender. An exchange withdrawal reference can be an internal identifier rather than an on-chain hash. Inspect the correct chain’s record and compare the destination and asset. A successful transfer elsewhere cannot be corrected by refreshing your intended account. Review Ledger’s wrong-network and address guidance for the particular situation.
If the withdrawal is still being processed by a provider, ask that provider through its official channel about broadcast status. If the chain shows a pending transaction, monitor or investigate it as a confirmation problem. Do not send another deposit just to test whether the original one will appear.
Case Three: A Token Entry Is Absent
Check whether filters or hidden assets affect the view, then verify the token’s actual network and contract through trusted project information. Similar names and tickers can conceal unrelated assets. Also check Ledger’s asset-specific documentation: hardware support through a compatible external wallet does not always mean direct display inside the companion application.
If an external interface is needed, connect through its hardware-wallet function following official instructions. Do not import recovery words to make a token visible. Treat unsolicited tokens and links in their names cautiously; a displayed asset is not evidence that you should interact with its website or approve a contract.
Case Four: Only the Price Is Missing
Compare the asset quantity with its fiat countervalue. A missing quote, changed display currency, or stale price feed is different from a changed on-chain balance. Check Ledger’s service information and use documented synchronization refresh when relevant. Clearing data does not create price coverage for every asset or alter an actual transfer.
Missing Balance Questions
Does a zero display prove the wallet lost access?
No single display establishes the cause. Check account identity, chain records, direct app support, and synchronization before choosing a repair.
What should support know?
Describe the missing item, asset, chain, app version, and relevant public transaction ID. Share only necessary account information and never include your backup phrase or PIN. An ownership-verification payment is not a balance-display repair.
